Anniversary Congratulations & Greetings (Part 3)

Rev Ki and the Session
Hope BPC,
Greetings in His Blessed Name.

For thirty-three blessed years, Hope B-P Church has been firmly anchored on the solid foundation of Christ. He is the life of the Church. For such a faithful Church, it is not any wonder that you have the glorious assurance “... the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.”
Evangel Bible-Presbyterian Church Malaysia rejoices with you on such a happy occasion. While our Lord doth tarry, we encourage the valiant brethren of Hope BPC to be faithful and to ‘... spend and be spent for Him...’ We are confident of this one thing that your labour of love is not in vain, in the Lord.

Soli Deo Gloria

Your fellow co-Labourer in Christ,

Dear Ps Ki, Elder Michael, Session and all Hopefuls,

Greetings in the precious name of our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ!

“I thank my God upon every remembrance of you.” (Philippians 1:3) I am always grateful to God for my two-year stay in Adelaide and how He had brought me to Hope BPC. I thank God for the spiritual guidance and mentorship that I received from pastors and elders, and the sweet fellowship with the Hopefuls. I also thank God for Ps Ki and the Session for helping out Evangel BPC (KL) in our humble beginning.

I praise God for His great work and congratulate Hope BPC on your 33rd Anniversary. It is my prayer to God that each and every Hopeful will make effort to discipline for the purpose of godly living as per your church theme this year, and “…that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ.” (Philippians 1: 4-6) Amen.

Sis Yu Yuet Teng, PJ, Malaysia

(I was part of yours in 1995-1996 😊)

Dear Hope Church,

Greetings from Singapore in the name of Christ our Lord who says, “...lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world.”

It is with great joy that I am greeting you as you commemorate the 33rd Anniversary of Hope Church.

I was a young student when I heard of the birth of Hope Church 33 years ago. It never occurred to me that I would be closely associated with you years later.

As I looked back, I marvelled at how God was preparing a church for my son years before he was even born and likewise, for many other overseas students in Adelaide. I am most grateful that my son is now part of a church that is alive and zealous for Christ’s crown and covenant. I am always rejuvenated whenever I visited you. God has indeed blessed you with a team of godly Church Officers.

On this happy occasion, on behalf of our Church Officers and people, I wish you a very blessed 33rd Anniversary. May our Lord continue to bless your ministry and congregation. May Christ be greatly exalted in Adelaide through your labour of love.

Dearly beloved brethren at Hope Bible-Presbyterian Church, Adelaide.

Solomon writes that “to everything there is a season and a time to every purpose under the heaven”. [Ecc. 3:1] Thirty-three years is a significant milestone to reflect on the past, to rejoice in the present and to refocus on the future.  Whenever we look back to reflect on the work for the Lord, whether 3 years or for that matter even 33 years, our hearts are filled with thanksgiving to the Lord.

In the pioneering years of the church Michael Lee, Ngie Joo Gong, Joseph Selvanayagam, Tony and Sally Law together with the Paauwes had served tirelessly and sacrificially for the cause of Christ and the gospel. While they may not have looked for and received any reward from man for serving, I pray that the Lord Himself would be their reward. Surely, there is no greater satisfaction can they have than to know that the fruits of their labour have been a blessing to many, not only within Hope BPC but even beyond Adelaide.  Now may I commend Rev. Edward Paauwe for his vision, purpose which led him to the founding of Hope Church. Although he is now a retired minister, he does not cease serving the Lord Jesus Christ.

In the midst of uncertainty the Lord has raised up young people of His choice to serve in the church session with your Pastor, Rev. Timothy Okman Ki who had been instrumental in finding the present church building at 16 Bedford Square, Colonel Light Gardens SA for the growing congregation.

Shall we echo the words of 1 Samuel 7:12 “Hitherto hath the Lord helped us” .

Rev. Peter Chua.
Senior Pastor, Sharon Bible-Presbyterian Church
