Volume. XXX, No. 36 Letters by Missionaries“O Give Thanks onto the Lord for His Mercies Endureth to all Generations.”
Dear Friends, Greetings to you in Christ’s name. Yes, I give thanks for God’s help and watchcare over us all for another year. My! How fast the year went. It is nearly December, a whole year has gone. The first quarter was usual with cold winter weather and rain. We had little snow to excite us all. Spring brought the second quarter in with lovely spring days of warmth and sunshine. It remained many days without much humidity. It was lovely. We were able to sit outdoors and enjoy the lovely spring weather. In June I joined my siblings for a family reunion in North Dakota. Three nephews were able to join us too. Their excitement added a lot to the fellowship and fun. We visited the two “homesteads” of our grandparents. It was enjoyed by all and lot of reminiscing. Thankful for a safe trip. The end of May, Beth (my niece) injured her back having much pain. At first, we thought the sciatic nerve was pinched. After more X-rays and MRI, they showed it was a bulged disc in her back. At the end of August she went to Dallas and had laser surgery. It helped for a bit. But again, she is dealing with pain, and can only find a comfortable position by laying on her left side. She goes back to Dallas in January. I would appreciate prayer for her. I want to say a big THANK YOU to each of you who are continuing to give to my support. I appreciate it very much, and am grateful to each and every one. May the Lord bless and reward you for your faithfulness. The biggest gift given to us is the baby Jesus, whom we will be celebrating His birth. May I wish you a Blessed and prosperous New Year. MERRY CHRISTMAS AND A HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ALL. Sincerely yours, Joan Davenport * * * * * * * * * * Dear Friends of Hope Church, Greetings to each one of you at Hope Church in the precious Name of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, along with the sincere desire that you are well and rejoicing in the Lord and all that He has given you to labour for Him there. Here in Pennsylvania we are well and awaiting quite a lot of snow to fall this weekend. We did have a rather warm month of December, but recently the days have been very cold as expected in our wintertime. We thank the Lord for each kind of weather that He sends us. We just want to be ready to obey Him with happy and willing hearts at all times and in any situation and circumstance. This week we received word from the Board of a special gift sent from Hope Church that was a wonderful surprise and help to us. We really appreciate your love for the Lord and your generosity in sending this gift to us at this time. We are very grateful for your thoughtfulness and help, and pray that God will send you manifold blessings in return for your care and concern for us. We have so much for which to be grateful, so much real joy in our hearts especially as a new year has so recently begun! We thank the Lord for so many blessings, but will only mention three of them here now. First of all, for our salvation: John 3:16 is a beautiful summary of what God did to provide salvation for us. Our prayer is that the lost may receive Christ as Saviour, love, obey and serve Him. You, and all our friends who pray for us, are another motive for great thankfulness. Many have shown their love for the Lord, and for us, over many years on the mission fields of Chile and Kenya and our hearts overflow with grateful appreciation and love in the Lord for you. Lastly, we are so thankful for the measure of health and physical strength the Lord gives us from day to day, and especially for Charlotte’s recuperation from three months of hypercalcemia. We would appreciate your prayers for the continued pain Gene has in his feet and for Charlotte’s arthritis. With thankfulness to each one at Hope Church, we wish you a blessed and healthy 2016. In Christian love, Gene & Charlotte Faucette |
