Questions for Anti-Trinitarians Part 3 (Final)

12. Who is your mediator for you to get to God?
If you say that he is Jesus Christ, then you do not have one because a created being like men or angels cannot be a perfect mediator between God and Man. (1 Timothy 2:5,6) An angel cannot mediate between God and man neither could a man (if you believe Jesus was merely a man). The perfect Mediator between God and Man has to be both fully God and Man: Jesus Christ.

13. Is Jesus only a mighty God (ie. not equal to God) and not ALMIGHTY GOD?
If your answer is yes, then why is it that in Isaiah 10:21 (cf. Jer. 32:18), called GOD (Jehovah) “mighty God” yet in Isaiah 9:6 Jesus is also called the “mighty God”? Does this not tell us that Jesus is the Almighty God since the words “mighty” and “almighty” are interchangeable words?

14. Is Jesus “the same yesterday, today and forever” (Heb. 13:8)?
If your answer is yes, then how can you claim that Jesus was created (ie. either a man or was an angelic being) when the writer of Hebrews obviously was equating Jehovah God with Jesus Christ in Hebrews 13:8 in its greater context (Hebrews 10-12)? Only God is unchangeable, man is subjected to change. If Jesus was archangel Michael, does it not make him changeable?

15. Was Jesus archangel Michael?
If your answer is yes, then why does the Bible say that archangel Michael could not rebuke the devil by his own authority in Jude 1:9 and Jesus could and did in the gospel of Matthew? Doesn’t this prove that Jesus cannot be archangel Michael, but God Himself? Did not archangel Michael say, “The Lord rebuke thee”? (Jude 1:9) Who is the Lord? It is Jesus! Jesus said to Satan, “Get thee hence, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve.” (Matt 4:10)

16. Is Jehovah the “Lord of lords” (Psalm 136:3; Deut. 10:17)?
If your answer is yes, then why is Jesus also claiming the same title in Revelation 17:14: “These shall make war with the Lamb, and the Lamb shall overcome them: for he is Lord of lords, and King of kings: and they that are with him are called, and chosen, and faithful.”

17. Is Jehovah “the first and the last” (Isa. 44:6)?
If your answer is yes, then why did Jesus call Himself “the first and the last” (Alpha and Omega) in Revelation 1:17: “And when I saw him, I fell at his feet as dead. And he laid his right hand upon me, saying unto me, Fear not; I am the first and the last”?

18. Is Jehovah the only one whom every knee shall bow (Isa. 45:22-23)?
If your answer is yes, why is it that the same is attributed to Jesus who also has this honour in Phil. 2:10 if He is not GOD: “That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth.”

19. Did prophet Isaiah say in Isaiah 40:3: “Prepare ye the way of the LORD (Jehovah)”?
If your answer is yes, then why did Mark apply this to Jesus Christ in Mark 1:1-3? Was not John the Baptist preparing the way for Jesus Christ? How then can we escape the conclusion that Jesus is the LORD or Jehovah God Himself?

20. Is the name of Jehovah is the only name for salvation? (Isa. 43:11)
If your answer is yes, then why does Acts 4:12 say: “Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name (Jesus Christ, Acts 4:10) under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved?”

21. Why does the New Testament always lift up Jesus Christ\'s name, never Jehovah\'s name?
(See 1 Corinthians 1:2,10; 5:4-5, 6:11; Colossians 3:17; 2 Thessalonians 1:12; 3:6; 2 Timothy 2:19; Revelation 2:13; Matthew 18:20; Acts 1:8, 3:16, 4:10, 12, 17-18, 5:28, 41, 8:16, 9:15-16, 10:43, 16:18, 11:26). Is there something missing here?

22. Do you pray to Jesus?
If you pray to Jesus, then doesn\'t that make Christ God? "Unto the church of God which is at Corinth, to them that are sanctified in Christ Jesus, called to be saints, with all that in every place call upon the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, both theirs and ours". (1 Corinthians 1:2). Would you pray to an angel? If your answer is no, then why do you pray in Jesus’ name since he is only a super-angel or a mere man to you?

Conclusion

The Scriptures, the divinely, verbally and plenary inspired Word of God (2 Tim 3:16) is full of evidences that point toward the deity and eternality of Jesus Christ, our blessed God and Saviour. Natural man who is spiritually blinded by Satan and having their mind darkened by sin is unable to see the light of truth (1 Cor 2:14; 15:44, 46; James 3:15; Jude 1:19). Unless the Holy Spirit illuminates the mind of the poor wretched soul, he would forever be deceived by Satan and deceiving himself (2 Timothy 3:13) and cannot come to know the truth for “they professing themselves to be wise, they became fools” (Romans 1:22).  It is my prayer that our non-Christian friends will one day be enlightened and behold the beauty and wondrous truth regarding our Lord, God and Saviour Jesus Christ, the only mediator between God and man. Amen!

Dear friends at Hope Bible-Presbyterian Church,

Our family wants to express our deep appreciation for the generous cheque you sent following Cyclone Yasi. We are truly humbled by your kindness, thoughts and prayers at this time. The clean-up efforts are still in effect and will be for probably a couple of years. Currently, we are working on the most used parts of the campsite to have them ready for camps in the June/July holidays. Our issue with road maintenance has been made known to our local council and they are considering the matter. They have promised to come out and have a look at our road - something they’ve never done since the camp was built! Praise God for all He is doing through this natural disaster! We ask prayer for completion of the work, for physical strength & endurance, and for us to grow and draw near to God during this time.

Thank you dear friends!

Dear Pastor Weng & Brethren at Hope,

Several weeks back you folks graciously sent a gift to help with cyclone relief work in our area. On behalf of the church I wanted to drop you a note and thank you for your concern for our community and the Lord’s work here. We divided your gift and used it to help two groups of individuals. One, we gave a portion of your gift to help a family in the church who during the cyclone lost the roofs off several buildings on their farm. However, the larger problem they experienced was the loss of all their banana crop and thus their income for the next several months. We felt that these folks would benefit from a portion of your gift.

Two, we used the other portion of your gift to help several families in the community who were severely affected by the cyclone (e.g., the loss of the roof on their home, the loss of a significant amount of their personal belongings, etc.). It is our desire that through this help that we can make a contact for the Gospel.

Thank you so much for your concern and kindness. May the Lord use our combined efforts to further his work across the country.

Labouring together,

Rev Tracy Minnick
